How to File an Appeal of a Crime Victims' Compensation Case Decision

A Crime Victim Petition for Review to the LIRC form is used to request the review of a decision of an administrative law judge in a case of crime victims' compensation. This form must be filed with the Commission within 30 days of the date of the judge's decision.

To appeal a decision of the Commission on a crime victims' compensation case, a petition for review must be filed in circuit court within 30 days after the mailing or delivery of the Commission's decision. The venue for filing the petition for review is the circuit court of Cole County, or the circuit court in the county of the plaintiff or of the plaintiff's residence.

For more information on how to file an appeal of a crime victims' compensation case, please contact the Commission at (573) 751-2461 or Email lirc@dolir.mo.gov.
